"On the Other Side of Rain" for four percussionists was commissioned by the percussion ensemble "group dada" in 1978, and the premiere was given by this group on August 17, 1978, at Sohgetsu Hall, Tokyo. Ikebe uses split textures to create a rhythmically challenging work for percussion ensemble.
