Description
The Patterson Triangle Clip is one of the best on the market today and features a Life Time Warranty on the suspension line. If the line ever breaks, simply send the clip back to Patterson and they will replace the line for you.
This clip allows for playing with two beaters by allowing the triangle to be mounted AWAY from the stand to avoid collision between beaters and stand. Because of the direct contact to the metal, other brands have to use thicker line due to the added abrasion which dramatically cuts down on sustain. The cord on this Patterson clip never touches any metal, ever. This design allows for thinner line, which creates more sustain. Other clamps are bare metal where it attaches to the music stand, which causes considerable vibration transfer. The fact that this clip line runs through the black plastic sleeve, plus the added insulation on the ends, will cut down on vibration transfer through the clip and music stand.

Suspension is placed near the back of the clip, making thumb placement while holding the clip and playing awkward. Good if you just need to suspend it from a stand and play with two beaters or similar

When I opened my package, I was very disappointed at this triangle clip. Yes, there are two strings, but the clip is very hard to retract and I had to use two hands just to push down the spring. The strings were so tight on the clip that my Black Swamp Artisan 6" barely fit on the clip, but I guess (and hope) that it will break in soon. And there was barely anywhere to rest my thumb on the clip while holding the triangle! I thought the product would be better than it seemed, but just save yourself the doubt and purchase an actual brand name triangle clip like the Weiss wooden one or the Black Swamp triangle clip.

Regarding previous reviews, yes, there are numerous clips on the market you can try your hand at, but besides the advantages of one clip over the other, and there are several, know that the real trick is getting the double insulation right so that the vibrations will not make their way up through the music stand. Plus, this design protects the cord from metal contact which will eventually cut the line. Since we offer a LIFETIME warranty on the cords, it's in our best interest to use the absolute highest quality materials possible. Looks can be deceiving, there is nothing cheaply made in what you are purchasing. If the cord ever breaks, with the exception of intentional abuse, just send the clamp back to us and we will replace it with a new one.
