Description

If you want extreme low-end, and a head-turning alternative to a standard bass drum, look no further than to Pearl's DjemBass. Convert a PJF-350 fiberglass djembe into a compact kick drum with the DjemBass accessory pack.

To reduce the attack and add greater "lows" Pearl includes a cloth cap that stretches around the head. For greater low-end, slip the included neoprene disc inside, which gives you two sound options.

Your pedal (not included) attaches via an I.S.S. type clamp to the Djembe's stand mounting plate.

Great system for drummers or percussionists who need to play at a small intimate venue. I do enjoy using this product with my remo 14 inch djembe. It works really well.

Great Kick Alternative

Actually this great accessory "works" with most djembes. It works BEST with the Pearl models which come with a mounting bracket preattached (like the 350). But with a little ingenuity, it's a great alternative to a full-sized bass for almost any model in the right size range. I've used it with Remo and Meinl units, which can then be unattached in about 30 seconds between songs and played normally. Usually gets a great "what is that thing??" reaction from the audience too!

Great, if you have a Pearl Djembe

I saw the description said it was for the PJF-350 Djembe, so I called Pearl directly to ask about how it mounted. I already have an African made djembe I want to use for this system, why buy another one. After describing my situation the gentleman at Pearl Headquarters, he said it would work on any djembe. Well.....it doesn't. The mounting system on the djembe side screws into the Pearl mounting bracket and the foot attachments are only 3/4" wide, way too small for any wooden djembe. I wasted $25 in shipping because of that one dude.
