Pearl malletSTATION EM Pro Sound Card (EMSC)

The Pearl EMSC Sound Card is the upgrade that turns the malletSTATION EM Pro into a fully self-contained instrument. Without it, the EM Pro is a world-class MIDI controller that needs a computer to generate sound. With the EMSC installed, you have a complete performance instrument on stage with no laptop, no external sound module, and no computer tether required. For gigging mallet players, that's a significant difference in how you set up, sound check, and perform.

What's Inside

At the core of the EMSC is a Quad-Core ARM 64-bit 2.0GHz processor running a sample-based playback engine developed in partnership with Soundiron, one of the most respected sound library developers in the industry. The library includes 126 instruments, 24,903 samples, and 24GB of audio data spanning marimba, vibraphone, electric piano, bells, chimes, percussion, piano, organs, brass, woodwinds, strings, vocals, guitar, bass, and synthesizers. The flagship recordings include the Adams Alpha Marimba and Adams Alpha Concert Vibraphone, along with a vintage Jazz Vibraphone sampled from 1970s-era bars. These are not generic patch collections. They are deeply sampled, multi-velocity, multi-layer recordings built for professional use.

Bi-Timbral Performance

The EMSC sample engine supports two simultaneous instrument layers, allowing you to create splits and stacks across the malletSTATION bars or in combination with an external MIDI controller connected via USB-A. Load a bass in the lower octave to support a marimba sound on top, or stack two textures across the full range. Each layer has its own volume control and reverb send, with a built-in reverb engine whose decay time is adjustable from a tight room sound up to a long hall tail. The rear panel adds balanced stereo outputs, a headphone out, MIDI In/Out, USB-C for DAW connectivity, and a USB-A port for external controllers.
