Nothing wrong with the pull rod, but apparently my old Pearl hi-hat pedal requires a narrower thread (although the shaft seems to be the same width). Since shipping costs as much as the product, it wasn't worth sending back (sigh). So: nothing wrong with Steve Weiss or the pull rod, but just be careful when you order that you are ordering the right product.
