I bought two of these because they were recommended as accessories for my Pearl EM1 mallet station. Well, the so-called "universal" clamps don't mate with anything that's part of the EM1.. You have to add something that screws into mounting holes on the EM1 and that has a pipe extension that you can fit into the clamps. Even then, the assembly is difficult to put together and doesn't feel stable once you're done -- and you can't just pick the whole thing up to move it because the tripod stand swings away from vertical. You'd be better off with a regular X-style stand. The only reason I'm giving this product a "2" instead of a "1" is that I can probably find another use for it somewhere.
