Description

Pearl Percussion Stix-Free Triangle Holder. Includes 8" Triangle and enables the player to strike the triangle using only the bare hand.

Fumbling to pick up a beater and steady your triangle is a thing of the past with the PPS-12T Stix Free Triangle Holder. A brass beater underneath each of the two padded curved felt striking pads hits the horizontally mounting 8" hardened steel triangle (included) with a crisp and clear sound.

With two striking pads you can play intricate syncopated patterns not possible with a single triangle beater and go from one instrument to the Stix Free Triangle without missing a beat.

The PPS-12T is fully adjustable to hold triangles from 6" to 10" and perfect for the multi percussionist in a pop or pit setting.

  • Mounting hardware (Pearl PPS35 NOT Included)

The setup takes some experimentation. The way the triangle hangs from the monofilament lines, it doesn't line up with the strikers. I had to "twist" the lines in order to shorten them. Even with that, I had to mount it at an angle so that the strikers would hit the triangle properly. There were no specific setup instructions included, so it took some experiementing to get the strikers properly aligned. Additionally, when the triangle holder arrived, I found out that an additional mount was required. Perhaps I should have been more aware of this, but I did have to order the additional mounting attachment before I could use it.

Great idea but in reality didn't work too well. Hard to control and good rolls are impossible. You're better off using beaters which you can do with this device by removing the beater pads on top.Oh and the triangle that came with it was abysmal.

I don't know of any other devices out there that does this, but this could definitely use some improvement. The beater sound is NOT one that I would use in an orchestral setting. For musical theater, it gets the job done. If I don't have the triangle set perfectly, it doesn't trigger very well.
