I bought the Pearl Travel Bongos and 11-3/4" Travel Conga and the build-quality exceeded my expectations. They sound fantastic, easy to fine-tune to your taste, and they're heavier than they look. They look fabulous. Very happy with this purchase.
I am real happy with the sound of these bongos. They sound as good as some full sized bongos I have played. I was surprised the the bottoms were sealed. The macho is sealed 100%, but the hembra is sealed but has a 3/4" hole drilled in the center of the sealing plate. The result? A very nice rich bongo sound that I did not expect with these travel bongos. These very likely will make their way on my percussion rig.
