Peril of the Bells by Rick Dior for percussion ensemble. This inventive adaptation of Mykola Leontocivh's Carol of the Bells takes creative liberties with the renowned Christmas carol, giving it a completely different character that will spice up your holiday repertoire.
Instrumentation (10 players):
Player 1 - vibraphone, conga, medium crash cymbals
Player 2 - 4-octave marimba, glockenspiel, bongos, tambourine
Player 3 - 5-octave marimba, low pitched claves, flat ride cymbal with rivets, sleigh bells
Player 4 - chimes, djembe, bongos, 2 log drums, Brazilian tamborim
Player 5 - timpani, talking drum, crotales (upper octave), pandeiro
Player 6 - surdo (or large floor tom), small bass drum, berimbau (optional)
Player 7 - large caxixi, large bass drum, wood wind chimes, bell tree, cuica
Player 8 - quinto, small crash cymbals, agogo bells, small wind gong with bass bow, timbales
Player 9 - small cowbell, field drum, medium crash cymbals
Player 10 - African gankogui cowbells (or large agogo bells), finger cymbals, triangle, large suspended cymbal, large crash cymbals, shakers, ganza, apito
