Breeze by Kyle H. Peters is a warm and reflective four-mallet marimba solo. This medium-level solo explores double lateral strokes while simultaneously developing dynamic range and rhythmic fluidity in a rubato approach. In the middle of the piece, Peters offers the performer an opportunity to continue to craft their musicianship with a linear passage in which the melody passes between the two hands. Breeze is playable on a 4.3-octave (low A) marimba and works well as a short feature piece for concerts, auditions, or technical study.
