If you like the style of Peters' Yellow After the Rain, then this is a great collection to use as a stepping stone or additional repertoire. And great value for eleven solo pieces. Loved it.
I didn't realize Peters had a writing phase in the late 90s. His writing evolved a lot from the 70s, and although some of these pieces still anchor heavily on the stacked 4th sus chord thing, there's a lot of variety and nice writing. Definitely worth looking into for contest solos.
This is a great book to add to your collection, whether or not you are using the Fundamental Studies books. Not too hard, good for the younger high school students.
