I am using the pandemic down time to do a lot of jazz drum set work. I have been very pleased with all of the Mitchell Peters books and saw his two drum set stick control books. I found a couple of Joel Rothman and other books that flow well from the Jim Chapin book but this particular book could be used as a better introductory book (before all the others) that any I have seen. It does exactly what the title says, and is worth going through every page in order. It will get your hands going and I did as many bass drum foot variations as I could at the same time. It looks formulaic but I think it is better than it looks. I will have to try it with a student new to the jazz feel and see if I am right.
