Pickering-Heavy Binary-SD

Heavy Binary by Caleb Pickering is comprised of four movements influenced by different genres of heavy metal music. The "binary" aspect refers to the use of contrasting striking implements in each movement, including open hand, drumstick, nylon brush, wire brush, crotale, finger cymbal, and timpani mallet.

I. Impulse: open hand & nylon brush
II. KC: timpani mallet, drumstick, crotale
III. Post: finger cymbal & drumstick
IV. Breakdown: wire brush & drumstick
