This book is a fantastic find for any drummer looking to expand their drumming skills. Kim's book is very thought out with ideas and systems that make sense in real musical applications. I studied with Kim over 17 years ago, everyday I still work through this book that is an essential part of my warm ups and chop builders. Kim's section on cross rhythms is an amazing ear training tool !! Advanced Concepts works well with other advanced systems like Patterns (Gary Chaffee) and Even in the Odds (Ralph Humphrey) they all have different approaches but work amazingly well together.
