There are excellent sticks with quality so high that they actually feel like little instruments in your hands, especially the Japanese Oak ones. Unfortunately they don't hold up under high stress situations like gigs, they break, where Zildjian sticks seem to fray out around the middle where the stick comes in contact with the rim (even though you're aiming for the tip to hit the drumhead) but they still hold together - where Pro Marks just go ahead & break. They're awesome and highly recommended if you don't have high stress high volume applications. If you're hardcore, you might go thru all of them in one gig. I'm really sick of using the same Zildjian sticks all the time but I just remembered why when I tried these & saw $30 evaporate. It's too bad for me cuz I love these! And I DO think you should try them, just buy one pair at first to test the waters.
