The Remo Frame drum is constructed with a 2 inch Remo ACOUSTICON shell and a Remo Fiberskyn head. A thumb hole and notch in the frame make for easy holding. There are multiple holes drilled in the frame for assorted types of mounting. It can be played with either hands or mallet.
The Frame drum originates in the Middle East and is among the oldest of drums. Frame drums can be played using a traditional style with fingers, striking edge of drum producing a "tak" tone.
