The professionally-produced minus-drums play-along CD features eleven tracks based on jazz standards that gradually step up in tempo from 100 to 310 beats per minute (BPM). This innovative, incremental approach gives drummers the opportunity to work on developing their speed, groove and technique one step at a time.

There are many play-along drum set books on the market, each having their strong points. What I like about this one is the inclusion of play along tracks at graduated tempi. The first track is at 100 and they increase gradually to over 300. This has been a great help with my students who enjoy the play alongs but really have problems getting their technique up to the tempo of the tracks they want to use. This gives a student a chance to work on their technique without scampering to keep up. Nice book from Pete and Jim. Should become a must have for any jazz drum set teacher.
