I just used this for Sister Act. Great crisp sound. Easy to attach and adjust on the hi hat.
Description
Rhythm Tech pioneered the original and much imitated Hat Trick 18 years ago, a simple Hi-Hat tambourine that gave drummers a way to play tambourine patterns with their hi-hat pedal. Now they offer the Hat Trick G2, which is a significant step ahead featuring a unique Quick Release Knob that makes it fast and easy to put it on and take off the Hi-Hat pull rod. The G2 Double Row offers even more volume and spread. A super strong polymer frame keeps it light and responsive while the famous Rhythm Tech Tech nickel or brass jingles give it its classic Rhythm Tech sound.

I've used RT percussion for years and thought about trying this double row hihat attachment tambo. It has a nice sound but the jingles don't respond as much as I would like them to. The brass jingles are darker and have more presence than nickel. It's easy to put it on and take it off. I'm not sure about a studio setting (I haven't recorded with it yet) but a live situation this tambourine lacks in response, thus, it probably won't carry over a live band as much as I would like. Overall, not bad; just not in love, either.

I received the product at a sale price. There was one jingle missing so SW gave me another $10 off. Beautiful. I can use it and so I just strike the frame where the jingle was broken off if I want that sound. Otherwise, it's well made and I like the jingle sound - more dark than tinny sounding. Recommended.

What's great about the Rhythm Tech Double Hat Trick G2 Brass is that is has a subtle sensitivity. If you close your hats with a certain amount of pressure from your foot, you can get a robust tambourine shake, and if you want to use the tambourine effect in a spare and subtle manner, you can modify the pedal pressure & use it for just-discernable accents. The built quality is excellent. It won't slide down the high-hat rod or strip out. It's a great addition to my kit. CHEERS
