Description
Ritmo Soiree by Scott Johnson for percussion quintet. The title roughly translates to "Rhythm Party" which refers the combined styles which make up the two sections of this tune. The piece begins in a mambo and then to a calypso for the B section. The key changes also correspond to the different sections. The key of Eb minor for the mambo section really beefs up the bottom end with the bass part. There is a solo section followed by a D.S. back to the A section, back through the tune to end with a panorama-esque coda.
