Description

The Weiss 18" Roto-Tom with Stand is one of the only new 18" roto-toms on the market today. Since Remo stopped manufacturing roto-toms larger than 10", finding a new large roto-tom has become increasingly difficult, and the 18" is the hardest size of all to track down. SWM carries the full Weiss roto-tom line specifically to keep these drums available to the drummers and percussionists who need them.

The 18" is the largest roto-tom in the Weiss lineup and works well as a large floor tom addition to a drum set, a standalone concert tom, or with additional hardware as a bass drum setup. Like all roto-toms, it can be tuned by spinning the drum on the center threaded rod. The included stand offers height and tilt adjustment, and the drum ships with a clear drumhead installed. A roto-tom mounting rail is also included.

I'm an older guy. I was born in the early '70s, grew up hearing these roto toms, Van Halen, and damn near everything else back in those hardcore rock and roll days. Always wanted them, pulled the trigger about 4 years ago. I got the whole set from 6 in. all the way to 18 in. Absolutely incredible. Steve Weiss Music - these guys are legendary. These pieces are legendary. They sound better than any regular tom I ever paid for, ever else in my life.... I'm going to build another set for one of my little grandkids using Steve Weiss drums and everything else... That 18 in. is impossible to find anywhere except Steve Weiss Music, the best in the business.

This is my second 18 inch Weiss Roto Tom. Again excellent deal being that Remo stopped making sizes bigger than 10 inch many years ago. No issues just replaced stock head with remo clear black dot. Awesome

This is the 5th Weiss Roto-Tom I have Purchased. They are well built and have great tone. Only a minor problem with tension rods and paint on the flanges , knocked the rating to a 4. Both easily corrected. Stock head replaced with Remo Pinstripe. This makes 8 Roto's in my set. Have been adding them to my kits since 1974. I want to thank Steve Weiss Music for keeping these drums ALIVE ! More than the great inventory, the Best Reason to shop Steve Weiss Music is the people who work there. THANK YOU JT BEAVER !!

Great product, friendly service!

I recently purchased the full set of Steve Weiss Roto-Toms, ranging from 6" to 18" (6", 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", 18"), and I'm thrilled to finally complete my drum collection with these versatile drums. I'm glad there are still options available for buying new Roto-Toms, and the quality of this set does not disappoint. The Roto-Toms themselves are well-constructed and have a solid feel. The unique, open design allows for bright, cutting tones with a lot of tuning flexibility. They're perfect for adding melodic elements to my setup, and I love the tonal possibilities they bring. However, one thing to note is that they seem to be more sensitive to room temperature changes than traditional drumheads. I find that I have to tweak and fine-tune the tension fairly often to maintain the sound I want. It's a small inconvenience, but it's worth it for the distinctive sound that only Roto-Toms can offer. The stands and mounting hardware that came with the set are decent, but I do wish they were a bit sturdier. They hold the drums securely, but a slightly more robust design would provide greater stability. Because of this, I'm looking into mounting them onto a drum rack system, which I believe will be a more solid and practical solution.
