Griffin-Rub-a-Dub (SP)-2V/M/4T/DS/P/ASX

Rub-a-Dub is a unique work for Alto Saxophone and Percussion Quartet by Charles Griffin. The title references Dub, a sub-genre of (mostly) electronic music originally derived from Reggae.A large portion of the piece explores reggae rhythms and motives, but also attempts to emulate with acoustic instruments some of the digital delay effects so common to Dub as a style.

Rub-A-Dub was commissioned by The Colorade State University Percussion Ensemble, Eric Hollenbeck director. It was premiered at PASIC 2010.
