Unique, but Addicting

I originally bought this pad as an experiment to compare to Carlos Botello's signature pad from Beetle Percussion (which is no longer in production) but I found myself enjoying this pad so much I ended up switching over to it exclusively. My only complaint is the half rim, it's made of a rubber material, much like the other pad, but I find this rim to be a little too flimsy and flakes after extended use. On his Instagram, Carlos can be seen placing the rim on the outside and I can see why. Other than that it's a great pad! The playing surface is super articulate, much to do with the laminate that feels almost like a counter top without being harsh on the hands, I can't confirm this but I believe the laminate rests on a neoprene surface similar to the white side of Salyers double-sided pad. (Another common example might be similar feeling to the Vic Firth Slimpad). All-in-all if you're looking to get a pad for an aspiring marching snare drummer, or you're wanting to expand your collection of rudimentary drum pads, this one offers a unique playing experience and sound while also feeling really really nice.
