This book covers progressively all that is needed to become a competent snare drummer. It includes a review of the various "follow throughs" when playing flams, multiple bounce rolls at different speeds and progression through the various rudiments with accompanying well written solos that explore the use of the rudiment. Included are student tests and "creative projects" where the student has an opportunity to write some drum music based on what had just been covered! It also includes duets based on a rudiment just learned, such as "Flamacuing Together" on page 36. Many of William Schinstine's students are professionals today.
