Martin-Searching for Starlight (SP)-V/Cro./6M/P OS

Searching for Starlight by Eric Martin is a percussion ensemble piece featuring vibraphone. This piece was written for the Malletech Love Vibe. On this instrument, the performer can manually adjust how much the resonators are covered. These new techniques are explored throughout the piece. The title for this work originates from the Saturday morning cartoons watched by the composer. Not a reference to any one show, Searching for Starlight comes from the collected memories of these programs and their fun, all synthesizer, soundtracks. Scored for 9 players plus solo vibraphone. Requires three 4.3 octave marimbas, one 5 octave marimba, crotales, and percussion.
