I bought all Berloz. It cost me alot for three books...jury still out of this. Skoog little manual. Really inexpensive. This is the single Best little text for congas. I OWN them all. Everything. Incuding every video. If starting congas... Spiro video to start ( only half is really great but beginning is fantastic) Tomas Cruz book 1 Richie Gajete next for general rhytms and play a long Skoog book is Great...even a good timbale section Tomas Cruz book 2....... I have everything else....Berlioz is technique what I have looked through, Ponco tons of examples for mambo, cha cha,6/8 and merengue, Real Conga book (save your money), Tomas Cruz 3 ( Great for Timba), Anga vid great for 4 & 5, Spiro book kinda loose but has lot of great stuff ( must have ), Hildago vids great little tid bits, Conga book really & vid is begining but the 6/8 is really worth it, THE Garcia, LP, Conte vids all have at least 2 or 3 great ideas, Elaido book short & sweet...get it...I have more but forget at this moment Very Long answer the Skoog is a Rhytmn & technique..lot of Guanguaco, -havana, columbia, mantanzas, 6/8, effectos, hand stick, LOT of tumbao material...former teacher ideas and skoog studied w hevies.
