Ewazen-Soliloquy and Rondo (SP)-B/V/Cro./M/P

Soliloquy and Rondo by Eric Ewazen is dedicated to the composer's friends in the Nexus Percussion Ensemble. The Eternal Dance of Life was written as a huge concerto grosso for Nexus with a wind ensemble accompaniment for Southern Methodist University with Jack Delaney conducting. Nexus then asked Ewazen if he could arrange two movements to play separately as a quintet. This became Soliloquy and Rondo, an arrangement of the slow third movement and the fast energetic second movement.
