Description
Soulhouse Dance by Julie Spencer for percussion quintet. This piece is dedicated "to those moments in which the mundane epiphany of being becomes a catalyst for ecstatic and inexplicable awe".
Instrumentation:
Player 1 - xylophone, small triangle, vibraphone
Player 2 - 4.3-octave marimba
Player 3 - 4.3-octave marimba
Player 4 - metal washboard, gong (with bow), small suspended cymbal, wooden tongue drum, 3 woodblocks, 1 mounted castanet, 2 tom toms, 3 tambourines
Player 5 - mounted sleighbells, 2 small shakers, assortment of shakers, wind chimes, and rattles, djembe, 3 small suspended gongs
