DJ Dog Demockracy is a rock n' roll funk piece for marimba or optional duo with drum set. The name is a play on words, misspelling the word Demockracy in reference to world leaders making a mockery of demo-cracy. "DJ" is an abbreviated reference to Donald Trump. DJ Dog Demockracy is a powerful rhythmic piece with a driving beat and a flowing and reflective section in the middle to show courage in a world where leaders lead the poor and the voiceless in society like abandoned dogs. Real democracy is about freedom. It was originally commissioned by Japanese soloist Ayami Okamura and Daniel DiSimone.
