Spirits by David J. Long for solo piano and percussion septet. This piece is divided into two movements. The Succubus and The Poltergeist. A Succubus is a demon of the night who masquerades as a seductive woman beguiling men in their sleep. A Poltergeist is a malevolent spirit whose hauntings are characterized by loud noises, strange lights, rapping sounds, shrieks, and moving objects. This theatrical work has program notes for lighting cues and some minor acting for the performers.
