Farr-Spook-M

Spook by Gareth Farr is a four mallet marimba solo written for 5 octave marimba. Most of the piece exists in moto-perpetuo style through the use of quick double lateral strokes but also employs independent rolls and double vertical strokes. The sections of this piece are juxtaposed by short statements incorporating independent rolls and separate rhythms in the low register. The final section of the piece features a faster tempo and alternating double vertical strokes.
