Description
Divertimento for Piano & Timpani, Op. 16 is an early work by Czech-American composer Tomas Svoboda (1939–2021), composed in 1956. One of the composer's earliest published pieces, it represents a relatively rare combination of piano and timpani as equal chamber partners rather than treating the timpani in a purely accompanying role. At four minutes, it is concise and accessible while still offering both performers meaningful musical material to work with. Score and part are included.
