Beginning with fun hand claps and snaps, Rhythm Cell uses a combination of the Cuban cinquillo and Brazilian influences to make an intriguing work for younger ensembles.

• Instrumentation:
• Player 1: Glockenspiel (may be doubled on vibraphone)
• Player 2: Xylophone (may be played on marimba or vibraphone 8va)
• Player 3: Marimba (4-octave) (may be played on vibraphone)
• Player 4: 3 Timpani (optional)
• Player 5: (may substitute woodblock) tambourine, shaker
• Player 6: High tom (may substitute snare drum w/ snares off)
• Player 7: Bass drum (may substitute low tom)

Like all pieces in the Ignite Series, the instrumentation is flexible for some or all parts. You may perform with as few as 8 players or with as many as you have in your percussion ensemble by doubling parts.
