Taylor, D.-Gate of Heaven (SP)-B/V/3-5M

Gate of Heaven is a single movement work with three distinct sections. The first, "A Life Before" is a reflection on the existence of man previous to his mortal passage. The second section, "Earthly Sojourn" is a combination of two musical ides, both painting an enthusiastic and positive outline and approach to experiencing morality. The this and final section, "Gate to Heaven" is a hymn of reverence in anticipation of eternal life with God.

David L. Taylor is a 1992 D.M.A graduate of The Ohio State University. He has been a member of the Brigham Young University-Idaho music faculty since the fall of 1991 serving as the Coordinator of Percussion Studies where he also assumes other teaching responsibilities. He is the founder of the "RixStix Percussion Group" and currently supervises and directs the ensemble in numerous performances annually.
