Morton-Pearls, The arr. Ferriano (SP)-4M

"The Pearls" by Jelly Roll Morton arranged for Marimba Quartet by Frank Ferriano. This arrangement was commissioned by the Madison (WI) Marimba Quartet. The Pearls is and arrangement of Ferdinand Lamont's AKA "Jelly Roll" Morton piano piece. This challenging piano composition has been broken down into parts for the marimba ensemble. The Pearls is a prime example of Morton's style. In several concerts the arrangement has been well received by young and old alike. Written for three 4.3 octave marimbas and one bass marimba.
