"Waltz for Karpinos" was commissioned by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for Assistant Principal Timpanist and Percussionist Vadim Karpinos. It features French rudimental concepts inspired by Guy LeFevre combined with a jazz style reminiscent of drummer Max Roach.
