These two exciting pieces are a unique in the percussion literature. The first dance is a baiao in a fugue like form. The second is a samba partido alto. A calm interlude in tempo di valsa separates the two dances. A natural marriage of style and instrumentation, this work will add an extraordinary dimension to any steel band concert. The music was commissioned and premiered by Dr. John Wooton and the SMU Steel Band.
