Hixson-Two Scenes-M(6 mallets)

Two Scenes for Marimba by Shirley Hixson is a six mallet solo scored for 4.3 octave marimba (with the exception of one low G). Both movements are chorale style pieces, however executing this accurately while holding six mallets makes this piece more challenging than most chorales. The composer includes the note, "For a simplified version, yet effective performance, select the three or four best notes from each chord and play only those."
