This is intended as a piece for one hand & two feet though two hands can also be used, the percussionist sits on a stool with one foot on the vibe damper pedal and the other foot on a bass drum pedal; the hand(s) play vibraphone, crotales (c – b), glass & bamboo wind chimes, sizzle cymbal and tam tam. The work, though relatively easy for an undergraduate percussionist, does utilize at times three staves; employs mixed meters, vibraphone harmonics & clusters, as well as smooth mallet changes Premiered by Stacy Bowers.

If you or one of your students should have the unfortunate scenario of a broken arm (or hand) this is something to keep your other arm busy. This was written to be performed with one hand and two feet (although you might need to hands to set it up). The part for the hand was creatively written so that it could be performed by either hand, so it does not matter which side is injured. Do not be fooled, just because it is written for only one hand this piece is still for an advanced player, and takes a mature musician to perform it musically.
