Interesting Sticks

I'd been looking for just the right stick to bring out the best of a 22" thin ride cymbal I own when I purchased this stick. I lined up all my sticks and all my rides and spent about 3 hours ranking all of them. The Vater Jimmy Cobb was not the best performer for my 22", but it did well overall. The fascinating thing about this stick is that it seemed to lower the pitch of all my cymbals compared to all the other sticks I tried. The Jimmy Cobb model has a very long taper that almost disappears into the tip. I think this would do well in any low volume situation. I found it to be well balanced and very comfortable in my hand. I think I've become a Vater guy now. BTW, the stick that ended up bringing out the best in my 22" ride was the Vater Matrix, which is now my go-to.
