The two drum sticks sound different. One is hollow sounding.
Description
The Vater Marching Snare Drumstick MV9 features what is called a dome tip. This is sometimes referred to as no tip, but it delivers a full robust sound on marching snare drums and marching tenors. Slightly shorter length and medium taper offer a well-balanced feel, fast response, and rebound.

I love these sticks! I personally prefer a shorter stick so these fit right in my wheel house. Although a strange design they are still articulate and very durable.

I love the dome tip, that's why I wanted to try these out. I'm not impressed with it, personally. Cons: 1) The stick is too short, for my personal preferences. 2) The weight is too light. 3) The thickness is less than I expected. Pros: 1) It would be a great stick for a middle school drumline to use. 2) The weight is good for younger drummers. 3) The thickness will help younger drummers to develop a firm grip. Overall, it's not a bad stick, it just didn't meet my personal expectations. This is definitely a stick I would utilize with a middle school drumline.
