I really like these brushes for a big sound and being comfortable to play. The little metal brad on the butt end works well on cymbal domes and the wooden handle does decent rim clicks and louder sounds as you make the transition to playing with sticks. I also take thick surgical rubber bands and put them on the end of the handle to do cymbal rolls and mallets sounds. It can come in handy on ballads and pit work.

These brushes are among my favorite because of the solid wooden grip, allowing for a comfortable feel and the occasional rim-shot. The sacrifice, of course, is that these brushes will invariably suffer some bent bristles if you're not careful when storing them in your stickbag because they're not retractable.
