The Vic Firth Dreadlocks are a great addition to my symphonic percussion arsenal. I've use them on suspended cymbals, merengue guiro, and snare drum. It adds more than what normal brushes can do without sounding like I'm using sticks. The construction is solid and they should hold up for a really long time.

While these may be listed under marching sticks, these are great for many other uses as well. They sound great on snares and tenors, but they work very well on cymbals and gongs, as well as on concert drums if you want a unique effect (although regular brushes would be better here). If used on cymbals they produce a louder and more cutting sound than regular drumset brushes but still quieter than sticks.
