The Vic Firth Freestyle Series 55A features a 17" length with an extra long taper. The extended length and taper increases the range where the player can place their fulcrum. This offers a wide range of responses and feels out of a single pair of sticks.

I've been really enjoying the extra length these Freestyle 55A's are giving me. They feel very balanced from the extra long taper. Also, I like giving these guys my biz rather than big corporate music stores. They're super pro, fast delivering, there sure is easy to navigate!
These are long sticks but you really do have a lot of range where you can place your fulcrum on the stick. Vic Firth did an excellent job designing these sticks. If you are looking for a long stick between a 5A and a 5B, you should look into checking these sticks out. As always, A+ service from Steve Weiss!
