The Vic Firth Freestyle Series 85A features a 17" length with an extra long taper. The extended length and taper increases the range where the player can place their fulcrum. This offers a wide range of responses and feels out of a single pair of sticks.

I purchased these based on the previous reviews and these are really awesome sticks. Great concept and design from Vic Firth. I also have the Freestyle 5A and the 55A. The extra length does give you a lot of options and no matter where you hold the sticks, you can easily control them and get the sound you want. I am very happy I purchased these from Steve Weiss! I got these because I had a professor suggest them These are by far the best sticks ive ever used, I LOVE the length, the feel, the overall weight of the sticks, they feel absolutely amazing and have become the only thing i use when i play now Would recommend these to everyone and if I could give more than 5 stars I would
Absolutely love the extra length as I am a lazy drummer, they are perfectly balanced as well these sticks are fantastic!!
