This is a great price, and all pieces of this kit are good. Improvements I might make are: Use SD1 Jr sticks instead or as an optional second version of the kit; Include a wire music stand and a stand for the pad (though these would increase the price a bit, you'd still be getting a deal, and wouldn't have to add them separately, as you would with this version). The book isn't perfect - its layout is busy and sloppy looking, which I find visually distracting - but the lessons are quite good, and the CD and video material makes it really useful and fun. IMO, SD1 Jr sticks are simply much better sticks than the original SD1; the weight and balance are certainly more friendly to smaller players, and they play easier for experienced players a well, without much sacrifice of the full tone of big snare drum sticks.
