Mike Johnston really did his homework on this. (Not surprising) Smaller diameter than a 5B but somehow it feels larger. Good taper and smaller bead than I'm used to but it works with the whole package. I didn't notice a sacrifice in sound. The stick is just well balanced all around. I don't feel like I'm working as hard behind the kit with these. Never experienced anything quite like it.
