This is my third recover kit from Vic Firth, and it gets easier each time! Definitely a two person job as one is needed to center and hold the mallet securely while the second carefully wraps the new cover around the mallet. Tying can be tricky as the cords are a slippery material. I've learned to put a little drop of instant super glue on the knot to lock it firmly, then thread the loose ends up into the cover. Great product! Sure saves money on the replacement cost of new mallets! -JMV

Mallets are expensive, new felts aren't so much.

Now I can keep using the same mallets until the shaft breaks. Bad news for the people selling the mallets, great news for people who play a lot but don't have much money. Amazing product!

I have no complaints about these. Easy to install, much cheaper than getting new mallets, and allows you to see the full life of your timpani mallets. Steve Weiss is the cheapest place I've been able to find them. Most certainly will purchase again when my current ration is used up.
