These are a great alternative to sticks. I use them with an acoustic singing group with just drums and keyboard. Sticks are way too loud. Director doesn't like sticks; however when I use these, she doesn't say "Too Loud" I also use brushes when the song calls for them but these have been a great addition to my arsenal. You still retain a stick feel but down several decibels. Definitely worth having in your stick bag
Use these for singing group, only keyboard player and drums as instrumentation. Sticks are too heavy, brushes are too light. Gives a nice feel to the music without overpowering singers. Have used regular rutes before, like these for rim clicks. Handle is more like a drumstick than the regular rutes. Great to have in your stick bag in case you ever have the need for an in-between stick.
