I wanted to NOT like these so bad. As a trained drummer, I desperately wanted to hate these due to the fact that they're almost like 2B/marching sticks combined and I felt they were obnoxious for drumset. I keep going back to them with the band. They allow me to play extremely loosely and they do all the work for me! They have sick throw and the toms cut through the mix with ease. The only thing I'd change was the tip size. I'd sand them down just a little bit because they really are too large for most ride cymbals. If you have a pingy ride like the blue bell or monad, they're perfect. They last a long time and the finish is great for dry hands

Having seen a video of Thomas Lang describing his Vic Firth signature sticks, and his concept behind the size of the sticks (and the white color - a tribute to Buddy Rich), I had to try them. The 16 1/8" length is fine, but for me, the .650" diameter (and a bit more weight) was more than I've been used to. That being said, they are well balanced and as quick as any other sticks I play (they certainly don't slow down Mr Lang). I kept going back to them and using them. They were fun to use. And I do like the white color (the tips are natural color). At the end of the day, however, the sticks were a bit large and heavy for me to use on a regular basis (but I'm keeping them in my bag). I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying them. They sounded great on the drums and cymbals. They might be just want you've been looking for.
