Description

The Weiss Brand Gopichand is imported from India and is about as traditional as you can get. The Gopichand is considered more of a rhythmic instrument and is played by plucking the strings as the legs of the instrument are squeezed together creating a bending drone sound. This sound is instantly recognizable and is heard throughout Indian folk and traditional music.

I got the larger version of this, and loved it so much that I ended up getting this one too. I was surprised to find that I like the smaller one a tad better due to increased range, as it is easier to bend it down a full octave if you want to do ascending and descending scales. I recommend .007 or .008 gauge guitar string to restring. The string that comes on it feels and looks like .007.
